Baroreflex regulation of heart rate

Global sensitivity and identifiably analysis applied to a model predicting baroreflex regulation during head-up tilt

Mathematical modeling has long been used for prediction of biological phenomena, but practical use of mechanistic models for data analysis is not as common. One of the major obstacles is the lack of practical methods for model based data analysis. This study presents methods for predicting global sensitivities of model outcomes to model parameters and shows how global sensitivities can be used for predicting sets of globally identifiable parameters.
